it’s raining, finally, after weeks of dry dry heat. because of the upgrading being done on the estate here, they’ve built temporary shelter just beside our block and those shelters are made of those old tin roof, my parents call them Sa Li Cu (tin roof building), just like my grandparent’s old house. Best part about this tin roof is that the rain makes a very unique noise when it falls on the tin roof, a droning noise thats starts and recedes with the heaviness of the rain that’s alomost like a lullaby. I remember, when I was still very small, I would listen to it in the afternoons while at my grandparents and fall asleep to the noise. It’s a pity though, my mum, strangely, hates it.
